Last updated: 31 August 2026

1. Who are we?

This cookie policy applies to the website of:

Cobalt Box NV
Krijgsbaan 39
2640 Mortsel
Company number: 0671.792.801

This cookie policy explains which cookies and similar technologies we use, why we use them and how you can manage your preferences.

2. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that may be stored on your computer, smartphone or other device when you visit a website.

We also use similar technologies, such as pixels, tags, local storage and cookieless measurement signals. When this policy refers to ‘cookies’, it also includes these similar technologies.

Some cookies are required for the website and booking process to work. We only use other cookies after you have given your consent.

3. Which categories do we use?

Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are required for:

  • the security and correct operation of the website;
  • remembering and applying your cookie preferences;
  • loading and operating essential components;
  • completing a booking or another action you have expressly requested.

We do not ask for consent for strictly necessary cookies. You can block these cookies through your browser, but parts of the website or booking process may then not work correctly.

Functional cookies

Functional cookies enable additional features, such as:

  • using an appointment module;
  • loading interactive components;
  • remembering certain user preferences;
  • integrating external services.

We only place these cookies after you have given consent, unless they are strictly necessary for a function you requested yourself.

Analytics cookies

Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use the website. For example, we examine:

  • how many people visit our website;
  • which page or campaign brought them to the website;
  • which pages and storage units they view;
  • which steps of the booking process they complete;
  • where visitors leave the booking process;
  • how the website performs technically.

We use this information to improve the website, our marketing and the booking process.

Advertising cookies

Advertising cookies and pixels help us to:

  • measure advertising results;
  • determine whether an advertisement led to an enquiry or booking;
  • create relevant audiences;
  • make advertisements more relevant;
  • avoid showing the same advertisement unnecessarily often.

These cookies and pixels are only activated after you have consented to advertising cookies.

5. Google Consent Mode

Cobalt Box uses Google Consent Mode.

If you reject analytics or advertising cookies, Google tags may not store or read cookies for those purposes. In that case, Google may receive limited, cookieless technical signals, such as:

  • the consent status granted or denied;
  • the time of the visit;
  • information about the browser or device;
  • the page visited;
  • referral information;
  • limited measurement signals that are not based on cookies.

These signals may be used for aggregated measurement and modelling. If you give consent, the corresponding Google cookies may be placed.

6. Fathom Analytics

We use Fathom Analytics as an additional, privacy-focused measurement solution.

Fathom is used without traditional tracking cookies and helps us analyse aggregated visitor numbers and trends. We do not use Fathom to track individual visitors across different websites.

7. Bookings through MyYouUnit

We use MyYouUnit technology to display available storage units and complete bookings.

When you start the booking process, necessary session data may be processed to:

  • remember your selected location and storage unit;
  • show availability and prices;
  • process the different booking steps;
  • correctly complete the booking and any payment.

Information you enter during a booking is personal data and is not covered exclusively by this cookie policy. For more information about the processing of personal data, please contact info@cobaltbox.be.

8. External content

Our website may contain content or features from external parties, such as Calendly, Instagram and MyYouUnit.

These parties may use cookies or similar technologies when you open their components. Where necessary, we block these components until you have given the relevant consent.

For further information about how these parties process data, please refer to their own privacy and cookie policies.

9. How do you give or change consent?

On your first visit, we display a cookie banner. There you can:

  • accept all optional cookies;
  • reject all optional cookies;
  • set your choice by category.

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time via the ‘Cookie preferences’ button or icon on the website.

Withdrawing consent does not have retroactive effect. You can also delete cookies already stored on your device through your browser settings.

10. Retention periods

Cookies may have different retention periods:

  • session cookies disappear when you close the browser;
  • persistent cookies remain for a specified period;
  • some cookies are deleted earlier when you change your preferences or clear your browser data.

The exact retention period for each cookie is shown in the current cookie list in the preference centre.

We do not retain data longer than necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

11. Transfers outside the European Economic Area

Some service providers, including Google and Meta, may process data outside the European Economic Area.

When this happens, we take appropriate measures, such as:

  • entering into data processing agreements;
  • using standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission;
  • reviewing the available technical and organisational security measures.

More information about international transfers can be found in our privacy statement and in the privacy terms of the relevant service providers.

12. Your privacy rights

Depending on the processing, your rights include the right to:

  • request access to your personal data;
  • have inaccurate personal data corrected;
  • have personal data deleted;
  • restrict processing;
  • object to certain processing;
  • withdraw your consent;
  • have your data transferred where that right applies.

You can contact us about these rights at info@cobaltbox.be.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority.

13. Changes

We may amend this cookie policy when:

  • we use new technologies or service providers;
  • our measurement or advertising settings change;
  • legislation or guidelines change;
  • the operation of our website or booking process changes.

The date at the top of this document indicates when the cookie policy was last updated.
